Fast and Furious' Spin-Off, Hobbs and Shaw Premiers With a Bang

Hobbs and Shaw was premiered on August 1st in the US and select countries around the world.

The movie, from the Fast and Furious franchise centres around only two of the characters from the fast cars and dope action show, Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham).

After Shaw’s sister Hattie (Vanessa Kirby) takes off with a deadly virus capable of wiping the entire universe, a rogue operative who has been genetically modified into a deadly soldier Brixton Lore (Idris Elba) takes up a course to retrieve it.

Known for being family men in the previous franchise movies that precede this, Hobbs – the self proclaimed “ice cold can of whup-ass” must team up with his nemesis Shaw to battle the rogue soldier who refers to himself as the “Black Superman.”

The film made $180M at home and abroad on its first weekend and is greatly tipped to make so much more in the days ahead.
