Jesse M Sekatawa (among music circles and fans,he is best known by his stage name Jesse10s) is one of those young and talented musicians reaping big from the Entertainment Industry because of his strong and undying passion for music.

He is a songwriter and record producer in Washington DC, born in Kampala-Uganda, and he has featured in so many unique kinds of music from deep melody, groovy Edm, Afro beats with harmonious voices to inspirational lyrics.

MTNPulse caught up with Jesse to discuss his music life and journey and below are the excerpts;

How did you end up being a musician?

I love music. I fell in love with music since my day one. I used to sing and dance at school and my friends loved it so much. And as a matter of fact, they still do.

Being a writer, on the other hand, is like doing part of what I love because its music that I am jotting down. My friends are my number one supporters.

When did you start doing music?

I started in 2016 and music has given me a platform to spread myself and also inspire a lot of young youth through music, sports among others.

Which type of music do you do?

I do a fusion of AfroBeat and American Pop.

How many songs do you have?

I have three singles out already Your Love, Never Let Go (feat. Lulu K) and What a Feeling (feat. Cmert Keyz) and I’m soon releasing an album with more tracks.

Besides music what else do you do?

I have a charity program called Sekatawa Foundation which runs once every year when I visit Uganda with friends to help out the youth and the needy

We understand you are a student too. How do you balance work and school?

Yes, I do work and go to school. During my weekends is when I get time to do some music because I don’t go to school over the weekend. Besides, it is at that time when I am having piece of mind after hectic days in school and my music helps to relax me.

Tell us about your educational background?

Well, I have moved to a number of schools like Ndejje SSS, Seroma, Mathews High School and also Howard College, and this shouldn’t get you thinking that I was naughty or badly behaved. It was just happening. I was like a tourist of sort. (Laughs)

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

In five years, I want to be doing World Tours. That is the level of success I want to have achieved at that time and I am working to live that dream.

On which platforms can your fans find your music?

My music can be found on ITunes, Spotify, YouTube and SoundCloud and I will be releasing my first Album on July 26th where in one of the songs on the Album I featured a Ugandan notoriety and award winning gospel artist Exodus.
