Award-winning artiste Maureen Rutabingwa alias MoRoots released her new single dubbed ‘MyWomanSheCries’ the second song off her upcoming album ‘From the Sun.’

My Woman She Cries is a rallying cry for the country and the world to take a moment and pay attention to the plight of the woman in Uganda first and around the world.

Talking to MTN Pulse’s Don Atungisa, MoRoots said “My hope is that through these words and rhythm women will find their voice to confront the sources of their tears and that every time it plays on the radio or on television, people will open their eyes to the plight of women.”

On what inspired her to write the song…

“As we celebrate women this month, it’s important to note that there has been little movement in the things that affect women. Girls are still dropping out of school because of the absence of Sanitary towels, Mothers still die in childbirth from avoidable causes, domestic violence is still a norm and the women are still registering lower levels of employment than men. And as much as the song isn’t a solution in itself, it’s should serve as a reminder of all the work that needs to be done” she added

The song was produced by MoRoots and directed by Ace Daniels.
