The long awaited MTN Kampala Marathon is finally here. Tomorrow morning, all roads lead to Kololo Independence Grounds where the set off for the various kilometre races shall be. I personally cannot wait.

This year’s marathon, like last year’s, will be looking to contribute to the public sector as regards maternal health care. All proceeds from the 2019 MTN Marathon will be dedicated to ensuring better and proper maternal health care in Ugandan hospitals.

And by the way, just by participating in the marathon, everyone will be a winner. Participants will take part in the 5km race (wheel chair), 10km race, 21 and 42 km races. Picking a race that won’t over stretch your limits was a very important part your preparation for the activities tomorrow.

In a bid to appreciate extra effort, MTN has availed cash prizes for the top positions in the marathon with the best runners (male and female) getting ready to walk away with up to Shs 20M each in cash prize.

This year, the running kit was improved to fit proper running requirements and aiding runners to run comfortably for the very important cause this year’s marathon is aimed to benefit.

As you sleep today, don’t forget to set your alarm early enough so that you don’t arrive while other have already set off. We wish you a fruitful marathon. See you at the finish line.
