MTN Uganda’s 2018 in One Minute and sixteen seconds

Latest News | 2018-12-31

2018 shall go down in history as the year when MTN Uganda cemented its legacy and position as the leading telecom operator in Uganda.

With reassuring trend-ripping campaigns, MTN ruled the socials, Mainstream and without a doubt, out-of-home media. In February, Uganda got its first ever 100% Youth-leaning platform in the name of MTN Pulse. Exciting parties, amazing data and voice offers still spell out this platform. Thou shall remember the “#NoFear” tag like no other.

Before the Pulse dust fully settled, MTN rolled out the Fero phones at insanely discounted prices. These devices ran out of stock faster than Michael’s time on Ginuwine’s stage.

Over 1000 smiles were created every day, and many more became proud car owners in the hard-hitting “Momo Nyabo” campaign that set out to popularize the use of Mobile money.
Until 2018, no advert ever made its way to the nightclubs, offices, dance floors and other unprecedented domains.
It has been a year of Bosco and his transition from a village chap to a social sensation. With four days of nonstop partying, Africa witnessed another wave in the name of “MTN Nyege Nyege” that delivered nothing but lasting memories.

It was also this year that Ugandans received #FullAccess to their favorite musicians and their craft. MTN Tidal debuted with a bang giving Ugandans a never seen before music streaming offer.
MTN furthermore made it possible for Pulsers and other e-shopaholics to shop directly from their preferred global retailers with the MTN Momo Card, smashing all financial boundaries to the ground.
To crown it off, MTN opened up the mobile Money platform to developers with the Open API enabling a hustle-free integration with their websites, Apps and other e-commerce enabled platforms.

Spectacular campaign after the other, Millions of memories daily, MTN marked 20 Years of unmatched service to Uganda.
