Latest News | 2019-10-01
Old boys of Ntare School, Mbarara opened the eleventh season of their Ntare Lions League yesterday at King’s Park Arena (the home of Pirates Rugby Club) in Bweyogerere.
The premier and oldest football league of old students unveiled new sponsors and partners as they launched their new season on Saturday at Panamera Bar and Restaurant.
Online retailers Jumia Uganda are the official league sponsors. Guinness and Peakshots Photography are some of the league partners that were unveiled alongside Jumia on Saturday.
In their season eleven opening weekend, former champions Nshera FC started their title defence with a 2-1 win over Kisyanga FC in what was locally known as the “porridge derby.”
42 goals were scored on the first weekend with the highest margin coming from the game of last season’s finalists Ebicuncu FC who rained 7 goals in the net of Shimba.
The old boys observed a moment of silence before kick off in memory of Doribert Atwesigye, the gentleman that was shot dead by a private security guard the night before. Atwesigye resided in Crichton House while at Ntare School.
