As part of their Africa tour, the Conceptual electronic dance music trio which includes record producer Diplo, and Deejays; Jillionaire and Walshy Fire will latter today perform live at the Sheraton gardens,Kampala in what is dubbed #ClubMajorLazer/ #MajorLazerUG concert.

The Major Lazer Dance Music group was founded in 2008 and currently has three members: Thomas Wesley Pentz Jr also known as Diplo, who is an American DJ and record producer based in Los Angeles and was born on November 10, 1978 in Mississippi, United States. Christopher Leacock, also known as Jillionaire, who is a Trinidadian DJ and music producer,born on April 3, 1978 in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago and Leighton Paul Walsh alias Walshy Fire, a Jamaican American DJ, MC and record producer born on November 25, 1982 in Kingston, Jamaica

Major Lazor dance music trio was initially made up of three founding members, Diplo, Switch and hype man Skerrit Bwoy. However, in 2012 Switch announced that he was leaving the group days after the “Free the World” Album and Skerrit Bwoy also left the music group to pursue religion.

Major Lazor dance group has worked on four albums from which party goers in kampala,Uganda will the night of October 8th attest to, and the albums include;

Guns Don’t Kill People, Lazers Do. This album featured producer Switch as a member and had contributions from noted dancehall stars like Vybz Kartel, Busy Signal, Mr. Vegas. The album was released in June of 2009 as a joint venture between Downtown Records and Mad Decent label.

Lazers Never Die, with two new songs and three remixes, followed in 2010. It also had Lazerproof, a collaborative mixtape with the English electro-pop duo La Roux.

Free the Universe was released in 2012. It featured Snoop Dogg in the reggae single “La La La” among others.

The 2015, they would release the Peace Is the Mission album featuring the massive hit “Lean On,” plus chart-topping guests like Ariana Grande, Ellie Goulding, and 2 Chainz.
