For a normal youth, weekends always start on Friday evening or even Saturday morning but the trends are different for pulsers.
It has been proven that for a pulser every day is a party day although the grooviest parties take place starting on Thursday evening and we are here to make sure you don’t miss out or appear for a particular event in a terrible attire that will leave you unconfident all through.
Youths attend different parties because of different reasons. While many people prefer events with free entry, others would prefer to pay and hang with people of a particular class.
Others attend events because of the offers on foods and drinks and in this article, we sample for you some of the biggest parties and they have to offer.
THURSDAY.
Cindy and the Band at Nexus – Najjera
Nexus Lounge is a place you want to go if you are planning to escape from town. The place is devoid of noise and revellers at this spot are normally University students from Kyambogo, MUBS, Makerere, and the young professionals who reside in Najjera/Kiwatule.
There is a happy hour offer on drinks where 3 bottles of beer go for 10,000 as Cindy and the band sing soothing ballads to cool down the night.
Jamrock Thursdays – Wandegeya
For any reggae/dancehall lover around town, Valhalla bar and Lounge is the place to check out every Thursday for a relaxing musical session led by DJ Ciza and DJ Naselow.
Happy hour (3 beers at 10k) runs from 5PM to 9:00PM.
Oldies Night at Gabiro – Bugolobi
Here, you will find a mix of middle age and young people enjoying a blend of classic music as selected and played by Selector Jay.
The crowd here is made up of University students, young professionals, expats and other people of the working class living in Bugolobi area.
FRIDAY
Friday is a party day and almost every bar/club has offers on drinks and themes that pull pulsers to their events.
But for this weekend, we shall look at the few places with exciting offers on eats and drinks that pulsers Could enjoy.
Liquid Silk – Naalya
With a very good ambiance and the litty waitresses, at Liquid Silk you will get 3 beers at just 10k starting from 6PM until midnight on a Friday.
You will enjoy music played by some of Kampala’s biggest deejays and enjoy exciting offers on eats.
The audience here is made up of Kyambogo campusers, young professionals, expats, and the working class people that live in Naalya and Namugongo.
Urbanoise at Sky Lounge – Kamwokya
With music selected by Deejay Simples and Deejay Jo, Sky Lounge presents another party that will make you remember and relive the Guvnor deejay SnapOff.
Sky Lounge has presented self as a high end bar and you will find all the class you might need to find around Kampala.
SATURDAY
Tugende Mukikadde
This Saturday, the city will be going back in time as legends come back to the stage at the kampala Serena in what has been dubbed Tugende Mu Kikadde concert.
The show features Uganda’s oldest band – Afrigo Band alongside a couple of other legendary musicians in the country.
Contrary to what one would expect, this concert is majorly attended by more youths than old people.
The event will be hosted by NTV Uganda’s Andrew Kyamagero and Bukedde TV’s Mary Flavia Namulindwa. Tickets go for UGX100,000 VIP and a VVIP table going for UGX3,000,000.
Play Saturdays – Club Play
Play Saturdays have recently been given a revamp after the introduction of a happy hour sale from 6PM to 11PM.
Three beers are sold at just 10k during this time.
Deejay Ciza and Navio host the night alongside a number of other deejays.
SUNDAY
Blankets and Wine
This is by far the most highly rated event in town and almost every pulser would kill to attend it. It’s happening this Sunday May 6th at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
It brings together celebrities, slay queens and almost every party loving youth in Kampla attends Blankets and Wine.
There no specific dress code to the event although most people would love to attend it with an attire that makes them feel free to enjoy the breeze that Cricket Oval has.
Organised by House of Deejays this time Blankets and Wine will feature Uganda’s Fik Fameica, South Africa’s Heavy K and Rwanda’s The Ben.
The night will end up with Mix and Grill at Sky Lounge, Coco and Choma Sundays at Fame Lounge and a number of other hangouts.
