He has given you smiles through the work he does on the mic, while he, himself beaming with joy, accentuated by his dimple. But behind that smile is an inspiring story of going against all odds to do what he loves and support those he cares about.

Odong Stanley, Known amongst his fans and friends as Lil Ollo, is a budding TV Host, events MC and rapper who has taken the industry, not by storm, but through hard work and consistency. The NBS Youth Voice presenter first appeared on the show as a guest and promised himself he’d host the show one day, and alas, dreams indeed do come true.

“I joined the entertainment industry not by luck but by desire…I went on one of the earlier episodes of Youth Voice when Vicky Beez, Bettina Tiana and Humphrey were still on the show. That’s when I gave up on my dreams of becoming a lawyer, because we didn’t have a lot at home anyway, but I had talent, I am entertainment.”

But the story doesn’t begin there. After traversing many primary schools due to luck of tuition fees, and in search of scholarships, Ollo finally hit the jackpot when he joined St. Kizito Highschool, Namugongo where his fees were subsidized and he was given a platform to groom his dreams.

“I was the information prefect for all the years I was there. I was given opportunities through school productions like documentaries, debates, and speech competitions” Ollo fondly and gratefully recollects. For A level he went to Kyambogo College School.

Ollo is a multifaceted individual. He can act, sing and rap. “I have so far released three songs and I have a major project coming soon.” He has participated in rap battles and is currently working with some of the most talented people in the music industry, we can only expect the best. In his own words, “I am not here to make hits, I am here to make a legacy.”
