By the title of this article, You already know its Beenie Gunter we are talking about. The music industry in Uganda is one of the fast-growing industries with so many people venturing into music. However, the real gist is the ability to make hit music that people will love. Beenie Gunter is one of the few young artists that has been able to grow and make it in the music industry. His real name is Baguma Crescent and only uses Beenie Gunter as a stage name.

The 25-year-old artist had his breakthrough earlier last year with his song ‘Tubayo.’ He had some music before, that stayed underground but through perseverance and determination, he is now a big name in the music industry. He has done collabos with a number of Ugandan artists like Lydia Jazmine, Navio, Big Tril and last year when Kranium was in the country, the two met in studio to record a collabo.

His style of music is catchy and trendy since it is dancehall. Many Ugandans love Jamaica because it is where dancehall music comes from. Beenie Gunter has been able to grasp the dancehall music style and thereby creating for us our own Jamaica in Uganda. His popular use of Patois, a Jamaican language has also made him stand out in his craft. He has hits such as Olina work, Pon Mi, Kill a man, Watto, Giddem and one of his newest collabos No letting go with Lydia Jazmine.

He also happens to be an O.B of St. Mary’s SS Kitende where he completed his A’level. He however has no plans of furthering his studies and would rather focus on building and grooming his talent. He will soon be releasing a new album titled ‘No Fear’. The 25-track album has features with Bennie man, Skales, Gyptian, Eddy Kenzo among others.
