Pulse Movie Review: Angry Birds 2, GoT's Peter Dinklage Returns as Mighty Eagle

After that dramatic (or less) ending of Game of Thrones, I’ll admit I really missed some of those guys. And especially my favorite character Lord Tyrion Lannister (played by Peter Dinklage).

But after all those months of waiting, he has returned to the big screen. This is his first major project to be released after GoT. He returns with Jason Sudeikis (who plays Red).

Dinklage once again plays Mighty Eagle and in his own words, “he likes to talk so much about himself which sort of makes him an ego maniac or otherwise put, he has got a mighty ego.”

In the midst of a bitter war, the Angry Birds and the ‘Bad Piggies’ are forced to set aside their differences when a new threat arises in the form of Zeta (Leslie Jones), a mysterious bird hell-bent on destroying both Bird Island and Pig Island.

Other additions to the cast of flightless birds include Rachel Bloom and Pete Davidson. Awkwafina and Sterling K. Brown will play some of their pig counterparts.

Written by Sudeikis and Peter Ackerman (who wrote the Ice Age movies) this is the second film to be based on the beloved mobile phone game turned full-fledged video game franchise.

Angry Birds 2 is a sequel to the 2016 box office hit, Angry Birds where we first get to see our video game characters in a movie.
