Pulse Movie Review: Spiderman: Far From Home

Latest News | 2019-07-08

The vacuum from the spoils of Avengers: Endgame is still huge and visible in this Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) sequel to 2017’s Spiderman: Homecoming movie.

Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is, as predicted, being groomed by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) to take over from Iron Man, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) after his sad but heroic demise in Endgame.

With Stark dead, Captain America retired, Black Widow dead also and Thor traversing planets with the Guardians of the Galaxy, Spiderman finds himself with very big shoes to fill whilst nursing the loss of his idol and mentor.

To complete the sad dejavu, the villains in this movie are former Stark employees who believe they can convince the world that they can take over from where he left and protect earth from any intruders.

The film features Tom Holland, Samuel L. Jackson, Zendaya, comedian J.B Smoove and Jake Gyllenhaal among the cast.
Oh, Peter falls in love with one of his classmates too.

Overall, excellent watch. Being the 23rd film in the MCU and the first post Endgame film, Far From Home goes a long way to reconcile us with our fears from Endgame and look at our viewing future with anticipation.
