Last weekend was one hell of an action-pact one, to be honest. From the Bell All-star Concert, to the youthful Shorts Na Lesu and then the legendary Blankets and Wine; enjoyments were really in overdrive. This episode of the Pulse Rewind aims at ‘bigging up’ the teams behind those shows, and all stakeholders for giving Ugandans such great enjoyments.

Not to forget, each of those events had high profile foreign acts and it is safe to say they all “came through” pretty well. Christopher Martin at Lugogo Cricket Oval on Friday was the most impressive, fairly speaking.

Even though Swangz Avenue couldn’t break their own record attendance which was in that same venue last year with Tarrus Riley, they managed to pull off a great crowd which facilitated for a great show. The all-live affair was backed by Ugandan acts like Kenneth Mugabi, Feffe Bbusi, Sheeebah Karungi, John Blaq, Nina Roz, Vinka and many more.

The “Cheater’s Prayer” hitmaker blessed revelers with non-stop soul-soothing reggae, before he mashed up the place with his dancehall hits like “I’m A Big Deal”. Swangz’ organization of no MC or Deejays after the first musical act to the last, was impressive; and the Jamaican star kept showering the promoters with praises for the overall organization of the show.

Next was was Shorts Na Lesu in Munyonyo on Saturday, which is more of a youth event themed at dressing up in nice shorts and “body wraps” aka Lesu’s.

Nigerian RnB/Soul and World Music talent Nonso Amadi kept the youngins happy throughout, and made them feel their money’s worth. Many couldn’t help exuberantly screaming their lungs out, and reaching out to at least catch a whiff of him.

Then finally, Sunday saw the big ol’ Blankets and Wine return with yet another grand episode, and it featured Nigerian Afro Beat singer Young Skales. Some were complaining about not getting the usual B&W vibe as expected, but it was a great show from my perspective.

Finally, respect to organizers of other events that happened, like the Ultimate Twitter Beach Party; y’all keep this country super fun. And by the way, you must be wondering how I managed to watch all these shows without physically attending, well, I used Pulse Data Bundles.
