Pulse Rewind: When Fashion Met Sports at the Pulse Vibes Show

Latest News | 2020-12-14

Last week on Thursday at 8:41 pm, MTN Pulse rolled out yet another episode of the funky Pulse Vibes show on Instagram and Facebook. Hosted by the jolly Faiza Fabz, the show had some of us glued to our phones for the entire 35 minutes of running.

First to feature was designer Malaika of Ubwiza Fashion House who had designed the host’s dress and displayed a few more for the Pulsers to peep into her fashion sense.

Malaika explained that being fashionable should be able to tell who you’re and what you’re about, without having to explain what it is.

Shillat Mua, a make-up artist with an explorative taste and deep wealth of experience in the field also featured at the show. For the set, she had given face-beats to the DJ of the night.

The other designers that featured included Nunu Umuringa of Umuringa House that locally makes and sells jewelry and crafts, a Ms Nunu of Bolden Africa that are into statement T-shirts and creative African print and the Legacy trio of designers that capped the night.

Hazel Muriro, a community psychologist discussed substance abuse on the show and highlighted the causes of drug addiction among young people ending with clear means on how go get rid of addiction. She provided an expert point of view on addiction that every young person out there needs to listen to. Where else would you get such professional advice for free? Very few places.

The round up the show, DJ Alisha aka the Doll in the Party gets some nine or more minutes on the turn table and dances Pulsers away. Her choice of jams and timing is what I liked about her. She managed the represent by rocking only Ugandan jams even when she knew Omah Lay was in town and must have been tempted to play Infinity.

“MTN Pulse is not just about data and freebies. It is a whole lifestyle that you shouldn’t fail to be part of. Just dial *157# and get rolling.” Faiza Fabz preached at the end.
