Sunday 15th July, 2018 will go down in history as France take on Croatia in the World cup final at the famous Luzhniki stadium in Moscow. Luzhniki, the largest and national stadium of Russia hosted the 1999 UEFA cup final and 2008 Champions league Final and has a seating capacity of 81000.

France and Croatia will battle it out to see who’ll emerge World Cup 2018 winner. France qualified for their first world cup final since 2006 when they lost to Italy on Penalties and it should be noted that this year’s final is the first world cup final appearance for Croatia.

France advanced to the 2018 world cup final after a 1 – nil victory over Belgium in a hard fought match as the two teams battled it out. Samuel Umtiti’s 51st minute goal gave France a lead which also saw them go through to final. Both France and Belgium won their respective groups. France then beat Argentina and Uruguay to make it to the semifinals.

Croatia have never appeared in a world cup final before. In their road to the final in this world cup edition, they were undefeated in-group D including a 3-0 convincing victory against Argentina, went ahead to beat both Spain and Russia in matches that went for 2hours each and won on penalty kicks.

Their semi final victory against England also went for extra time which was croatia’s third extra time play in a row but won it 2-1 without penalty kicks after a Mario Mandzukic 109th minute strike that saw them progress to the final
