Whenever Ugandan films are mentioned, some of us can’t help it but think about “dulop da bomu man” and other disappointing attempts by Ugandans to make cliche action films.

The Blind Date, a 29 minutes short film, goes against that though! It is a perfectly crafted drama full of suspense, plot twists and all other literary devices that we studied in A-level Literature. If you ask me, a genius film.

The crime, action, drama short film was shot in the Capital of Uganda – Kampala, with a few scenes stretching to Mukono, in the outskirts of the Capital.

The film tells the story of a man that hits a jackpot with a con but decides to stay around for more than just his loot. His genius conning abilities eventually land him in trouble, as the film unfolds.

The film features Martha Kay, Michael Wawuyo Jr, Raymond Rushabiro, Patriq Nkakalukanyi, and Riverdan Rugaju among others and directed by the multi-talented Loukman Ali.
