It is Wednesday again, and you know what that means. We get to shine a light on beautiful Ugandan women that are out there breaking barriers and setting inspiration for the rest of the generation.

Today, we made a brief stop in Kamwokya (opposite the Uganda Museum) to talk to Ms Blessing Ahereza, the General Manager of Levels Kitchen.

Commanding a go-getter attitude that is hard to miss even the first time you meet, Ms Ahereza has inspired the team at Levels Bar to look beyond COVID-19 and refocus their direction to suit the current times.

Having started the job in 2019, before we could predict anything like what’s happening at the moment, she has managed the tide by working smart, being open minded and yearning to learn something new each passing day.

“My job is quite demanding; busy, but fun & fulfilling.” Ms Ahereza told MTN Pulse.

Her biggest challenges in operation are not so different from what other businesses have faced, for her however, they’ve hit the hardest.

“The biggest operational challenge at the moment is the pandemic and its friends; curfew, lockdown and everything that comes in there.” She said.

Ms Ahereza advises young people to never at any one time underestimate an opportunity/job given to you when they have none. She is a firm believer in Mathew 25:29 – “For to every one who has will more be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away.”

She believes young people can always upgrade because there is no upgrade from zero.

“Grab every opportunity that comes if you have none. Don’t stop seeking for better, learn something new each day. Be kind and respectful to everyone and let the magic work itself out.” She says.

Levels Kitchen is a hub for all luxurious services. A spacious restaurant serving Afro continental meals, pastries & icecream, has a health club – gym, steam and sauna, a washing bay lounge and saloon. They operate everyday from 7-9PM, carry out deliveries and provide outside catering as well.

Load MTN Pulse data bundles and engage with her on social media @amekyshe for Snapchat, @Âmekyshe Facebook, Instagram and @AherezaBlessing on Twitter. On LinkedIn, she is just Ahereza Blessing.

As her good bye note, Ms Ahereza emphasized that the bedrock of any business is always the friends of the proprietor.

“Business has its challenges. It’s always up to friends to provide support in all its forms for it to take shape. Support your friends’ big and small businesses, help them grow.” She said.
