From Dustville records in down town Ntinda hails a young but talented rapper Delboy who is slowly rising to the scene in the country’s Hip Hop industry.

Dustville is famous for raising record breaking emcees who have proven to stay at the top of the hiphop game including award winning rapper Price Teeba of the ‘Side Zeeno fame’ and Patrobas.

And Delicous Watunga alias Delboy is another talent who despite being a rookie, is promising to take the industry by storm.

Born to Didus and Barbara Watunga in Kabale District, Western Uganda, Delboy is the third born in his family of six.

He attended Greenville Primary School in Kabale, Kigezi College Butobere for his O’level, and finished High School at Kingsway High School in Kitende.

Delboy is currently at Makerere University Kampala, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Tourism.

MTN Pulse’s Don Atungisa caught up with the fast rising rapper to find out more about his career as a hiphop artiste and what he has for the future.

He says his love for hip hop music started way back in 2007 at the age of 13 but it’s until 2015 that he chose to bring his dream to life.

“Working with Baru as my main producer and collaborator, I started working on working on serious music in 2015 and that’s when I released my debut song ‘Moses’,” he said.

He would later in 2016 release another single “Ask the Doorman”, a song which has since gained airplay, garnering the youngster fame in the hip hop circles also attracting attention of many pulsers.

Delboy has collaborated with acclaimed rappers including Pryce Teeba on Nvuga Kampala Gemix, Play 01 and the Ntinda Hip Hop collective, N.T.M.

In 2016 his project ‘Ask the Doorman’ was featured on ‘Young King’, an E.P by producer Baru.

Delboy has yet again joined Baru to make their new project “The New Wave” which was released on March 19th 2018.

The New Wave is a collective of 15 tracks including stellar features from Price Teeba who also hails from Dustville.

Delboy says he is largely inspired by African-American Rapper Lil Wayne.
