Rapper J-Wats Releases Debut 16-track album ‘On My Own’

Ugandan rapper Jude Watshaba alias J-Wats has roared once again musically with the release of his debut album, ‘On My Own.’

The album which he officially dropped today May 18th comprises 16 tracks, featuring over ten artists from across the continent.

Aged 23, the young rapper has risen quickly, made a name of himself and promises to grow further to top the hiphop game.

“I am here to stay, no holding back. I am determined to stay the Man of the year just like my inaugural hit song,” J-Wats said during a recent interview with MTN Pulse.

Aside from singing, this pulser is also a producer and a student of Social Sciences at Makerere University Kampala.

As he grapples with realities of love, friends with benefits, hardships and celebration of his gradual progress in the industry, J-Wats’ Album depicts the hustle story of his journey in the Rap game and music industry.

All the songs connect to a story from the start (Intro ft. Lugemwa) to the outro of the album.

The album contains an urban sound, with different genres describing J-Wats’ versatility as a singer and rapper.

It features Isaiah Misanvu, The Mith, Xtacy from Ghana, Suunsound, Zesmore, Pryce Teeba, Flex D’ Paper, Del Boy, Play01, Byg Ben, The CEE. The creative and productive minds behind the Album were; Rey Macc, Isaiah Misanvu, The CEE, J-Wats, Baru, and Right Beats.

On My Own started taking shape two years ago when J-Wats debuted “Holding The Light” as the first single off the album, which was produced by Rey Macc and Isaiah Misanvu (Executive Producers on the album).

It was later was followed by “Man Of The Year” which officially introduced him to the industry.
