Social Entrepreneur Emmanuel Wabwire to represent Uganda at 40th Session of UNESCO 2019.

Uganda social entrepreneur Emmanuel Wabwire’s heritage intervention selected as part of the World Heritage Volunteer initiatives. He was selected among the the few 25 young people globally to be part of the WHV program in Paris ahead of the 40th Session of the General Conference of UNESCO. The conference will take place between 12th to 27th   November 2019 in Paris, France.  This will be his second time representing Uganda the first one being in May 2016.  The UNESCO General Conference meets every two years. This year`s theme will be Re-Generation rethinking multilateralism with young actors.

For starters, Emanuel Wabwire was born on 7th November 1990 in Mbale District. He is the founder of Faraja Africa Foundation (a nonprofit   organization) aimed to have economically empowered and socially engaged youth-led society with 21 st century skills. He volunteered at Uganda Red Cross in 2010.   He holds a bachelor’s degree in Development Studies from Uganda Christian University and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Catholic University of Milan, Italy.  He served as the Guild President for Uganda Christian University 2012-2013. Most importantly he is the current Youth Chairperson for UNESCO Uganda.

Emmanuel has championed heritage and peace campaigns in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, South Africa, and Ethiopia over the past 10 years. These engagements have influenced thousands of young people from across the region esp. through the digitalization of projects.
