Social Media Queen: Carol Atuhaire Went from Being a Social Media Sensation to a Billboard Flagship Model for Oner

If you’re a frequent user of many if not most roads in Kampala you’ve probably seen the face of our social media queen for the day- Atuhaire Carol aka Mama Oner on a number of billboards. Mama Oner is what many people call her because of being the flagship model of Harris International’s fruit drink- Oner.

The 24-year old billboard star is a third year student at Ndejje University pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. On top of that, she is also a social media marketer and she has worked with a number of brands.

Unlike many brand ambassadors, Carol was handpicked by a manager from Riham because of her posts and pictures that were getting a lot of engagement from her followers on Twitter. Having joined Twitter in 2019, Carol now has a following of 178.5K followers which is a big number to accumulate in a space of only 2 years.

This number has also exposed her to working with so many people from all walks of life. When we asked her how she balances the work on social media and studying she said, “I study weekend program and my group discussions are flexible. So during the weekdays when am not engaged with school, that’s when I do most of the digital marketing activities.”

Like many people who have enjoyed the fruits of working on social media, Carol believes that it is the future of marketing and many people are yet to tap into it. She hopes to expand her skill set in the field so that she can continue earning money from it.
