Pulse Music Review: The Record Inama video by Diamond Platnumz and Fally Ipupa Has Set in East Africa

Diamond Platnumz has relentlessly continued to prove why he is the best musician in East Africa. The Tanzanian Bongo Flavour star, through his Swahili touch, has managed to bring doubters to his side with hit songs like “African Beauty” featuring Omarion, “Marry You” featuring Neyo, “Number One” featuring Davido, and many more. His most recent dance song “Inama”, featuring Congolese superstar Fally Ipupa, has come in handy to cement his estate.
A Swahili word for “bend”, Inama tells Diamond’s fans to arch their backs and dance when good music plays, regardless of the love issues they experience. He used his own love life as an example: mentioning problems he got with Zari and how he has spent long without seeing his kids with her, the alleged affair that his bodyguard Mwarabu had with his Wasafi signee Harmonize’s girlfriend that got him fired; and the fact that love is not learnt from books and isn’t about money. He proceeds to say that he just lets go of those who don’t love him, loves those who love him, and most importantly: bends over to dance to good music.
Produced by Wasafi beat-maker Lizer Classic, Inama is reminiscent of the Congolese hits of the late 20th century; thanks to the Seben rhythm guitar, and the Lingala vibe brought in by Fally Ipupa. The dance moves therein go even further to adorn it, with a move which was earlier used by Fally in another song, rejuvenated by Diamond for effect. This beauty didn’t go unnoticed, and even though its audio which was released about a month ago already has 3.1 Million views on YouTube(which is very big a number for an audio), the video reached the 1 Million Mark in less than 20 hours, and is currently trending number one in Tanzania and Kenya, and number 9(couldn’t get higher) in Uganda.
It is such a smile-inducing song. I keep renewing my Pulse Bundles to watch the video incessantly, and I’ve also had the audio on replay on tidal since it was released. Check the song out via the links below:
