See, when it comes to fashion, public figures dictate the trends. However unrealistic a fashion statement may be, as long as they endorse it, all the cool kids and fashionistas will take it up with no hesitation. Need I mention that women in Owino Market and Taxi Conductors in Kampala had waist bags way before Rihanna popularized the fenty pack; and need I mention how “nigiina” shoes were looked at as a poor man’s thing, until Chris Brown and Wiz Kid started moving out in public donning them after baptizing them “crocs”?
In this digital era, fashion trends are highly combustible and volatile, and the most recent trend of head scarfs for men is a live epitome. For women, head wear isn’t uncommon, but for men, it really is; most especially when one isn’t attempting to pull off an Arabic look.
The headscarf has been popularized by Afro beats musicians Burna Boy and Wiz Kid, Tanzania’s Harmonize, and our very own Eddy Kenzo; the latter two being Muslims who have very often rocked the Emirati headscarf before on many occasions, but have embraced this rather secular-influenced trend too.
What’s your say about this new trend: would you rock this headscarf in this January heat?

When he missed his flight on Wednesday and consequently couldn’t make it for his meet-and-greet, many concluded that WizKid was going to do again what he did in 2017: missing a show people had paid handsomely for. However, the Nigerian Afro Beats star touched down Entebbe airport a few hours before his show, and even though naysayers had speculated the concert to be a flop, Kololo Airstrip was filled to the brim and party people enjoyed some great Naija vibes. These are some photos from the Dirty December concert that was organised by East Meets West Ug, Kasana Events, Muchachos, Nexus Events and Pepsi Uganda :

December is finally here and that means that we will be saying goodbye to 2019 and ushering in a new year in less than 30 days. To start off the celebrations, this week Nigerian born Singer Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun aka Wizkid will be performing live at the Kololo Airstrip.
The show has been organized by East West Uganda and it will have Ugandan artists performing on the same stage with the Star Boy like John Blaq, Vinka, Weasel, Lagum among many other performances.
This will be the 3rd time Wizkid will be performing in Uganda after having shows in 2014 and 2017. His performances have never been a disappointment so we expect the same energy from the previous shows to be show cased this time round.
Our fingers are crossed for Wizkid to perform the likes of Joro, Brown skin girl, Ghetto Love, Fever, Soco, Energy, among so many other songs that are club bangers in Uganda’s entertainment industry. If you haven’t grabbed your tickets yet, Ordinary tickets are at 30,000 UGX and VIP tickets are being sold at 80,000 UGX. Tickets are available at various Total stations around town, Nexus lounge, All Funz video stores and they can also be got online https://mookh.com/event/exw-dirty-december-feat-wizkid.
In Wizkid’s own words, “It is going to be an epic performance that you do not want to miss out on!”
Two years ago, Nigerian sensation WizKid Ayo found himself in the center of a social media insult storm after he missed a show in Uganda. He later had to recompense dearly for it, and he gave Ugandans a great show at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
Rumors of yet another show of his in the Pearl of Africa were first confirmed true on twitter by the “Ojuelegba” hitmaker through his official account, in reply to a Ugandan fan who asked when Star Boy would be coming back.
“December” was Mr. Balogun’s response quote to @AtimCharlotte’s tweet, and it got crazy reactions from UOT. Even though Wiz didn’t confirm the exact date, details reaching our desk indicate that he will be performing on the 5th of December at Kololo Airstrip.
Tickets to the Wizkid Show can be purchased both online on mookh.com and physically at any Funz Video outlet. They will go for 30k ordinary and, 80k for VIP. For those interested in VVIP deck tables, they are available and can be booked by calling 0789466494.
I personally can’t wait to see the same energy the young maestro has been dispelling at his Star Boy fests all over Europe, and his recent performance at Wasafi Festival in Tanzania. That “Brown Skin Girl” Record featuring Beyoncé is a crowd favorite.
Anyway, just keep glued onto the Pulse, for your plot updates always. Remember *157# is the magic code.
Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, Popularly known as Wizkid and Tiwatope Savage-Balogun, better known by her stage name as Tiwa Savage on Wednesday 24th October, released a frolic music video of their “Fever” song.
The music video is made of romantic and erotic shots from where the half naked “All over” crooner Tiwa Savage is seen having good rollicking fun with Wizkid in a bedroom setting and it’s so far the record holding Nigerian music video with over one million views on YouTube in a period of 24 hours after its release.
